Editor - Chicago

Banner is a creative studio that produces video content for sports teams, commercial clients and our own hungry hearts. From concept through post, we are a full-service studio, home to animators, designers, editors, cinematographers, directors, writers, producers, storytellers, funny people who make each other laugh and are buddies. That last part matters because, when people like each other and trust each other, it shows up in the work.

We are looking for a talented editor to join our high-performing and passionate team. Applicants must have a reel demonstrating an exceptional eye for storytelling with strong editorial instincts. The ideal candidate is excited to continue to grow, both learning and teaching as part of a collaborative group of creators. This role will have the opportunity to be a leader in a rapidly growing digital studio. And most importantly: we have fun here. So will you.

Responsibilities

  • Raise the bar creatively, delivering best-in-class video that exceeds the expectations of our customers.
  • Ability to craft and tell stories with varying levels of creative direction.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders in a collaborative manner to make each project the best it can be.
  • Self-starter that thrives in both a team and an individual setting.
  • Work effectively on multiple concurrent projects, sometimes under tight deadlines.
  • Edit effectively in supervised sessions with team and/or clients.

What we’re looking for:

  • A raconteur that believes in the magic of storytelling (we don’t usually use fancy words like raconteur but it’s just so perfect for this role!).

Producer - Chicago

Banner is a creative studio that produces video content for sports teams, commercial clients and our own hungry hearts.

That last part matters because, when people like each other and trust each other, it shows up in the work.

Banner is looking for a full-time Producer to oversee the internal and external logistics of the video production process.

Responsibilities

  • Manage every stage of production from advising during creative development to pre-production, production/shooting, post-production and delivering of a variety of content
  • Coordinate the hiring of crews, casting and talent selection, location scouting, negotiating vendor terms, processing vendor paperwork, and developing pre-production books
  • Collaborate closely with creative and production teams to facilitate and deliver best-in-class creative
  • Ensure clear communication lines and expectations between production, account service, and clients
  • Prepare and execute realistic project timelines for productions including staffing, talent, equipment and deliverables
  • Review new business RFPs, assess scopes and create budget estimates and proposals
  • Ensure productions stay on budget and on schedule
  • Actively encourage and hold other team members accountable to foster a positive and productive work environment

Skills & Experience

  • Production experience working with a range of creative talent, including directors, editors, shooters, composers, etc.
  • Must be team-oriented and possess excellent problem solving, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • An appreciation for how great creative work gets done and a commitment to help pre-sell and pave the way both internally and externally
  • An expert at diagnosing problems (or opportunities) and offering sound advice to clients and teammates

Senior Cinematographer/Editor - Chicago

Banner is a creative studio that produces video content for sports teams, commercial clients and our own hungry hearts. That last part matters because, when people like each other and trust each other, it shows up in the work.

We are looking for a senior cinematographer/editor to join our high-performing and passionate team. Please have a reel demonstrating talent behind the camera and showcasing strong editorial instincts. Show us you’re a storyteller and a leader.

Responsibilities

  • Shoot and edit award-caliber video
  • Lead on-set productions, when needed
  • Ability to capture stories independently from a director and crew
  • As necessary, be a creative lead on video concepts lending expertise to the creative as well as the production approach
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience in a professional video production setting
  • Experienced and well-versed in all facets of video production
  • Industry-leading cinematography and editing skills
  • In-depth knowledge of production equipment, including: digital cinema cameras, lenses and lighting setups
  • In-depth knowledge of digital editing platforms
  • Must be flexible to work non-traditional hours, including:nights, weekends and on rare occasions holidays
  • Must be flexible to travel for assignments
  • Stay ahead of trends and push creative direction toward emerging styles
  • Proactive self-starter and problem solver with excellent organization skills
  • ​​Possess a keen eye for detail
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Capable of interacting with senior leadership
  • Experience in sports is a plus
